Johann Edler Cello
The Johann Edler Cello is a truly remarkable hand crafted German cello available at an equally remarkable price. Made by a well-known maker in Germany and finished in the United States by the Violin House of Weaver, this cello is sure to exceed the advancing players expectations in both tone and technical ability. It offers a pure, unbridled, and colorful tone rarely achieved in this price range. The Johann Edler cello is a copy of the Italian Carlo Antonio Testore of Milano Italy c. 1750 cello. The beautifully antiqued amber to dark brown varnish is laid over highly flamed select maple for the back and sides and a tight grain spruce for the top. The Edler cello has all the desirable qualities cellists strive to find.
A wide body version is also available, which is a copy of the Domenico Montagnana of Venice c. 1700 cello. Please contact us for current availability of this model.
